  • 2 cups rotisserie chicken or 2 chicken breasts cooked and diced
  • 1 cup mozzarella shredded
  • marinara sauce for dipping optional
Butter Topping:
  • 4 tablespoons butter softened
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley minced
Alfredo Sauce:
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 garlic cloves minced or grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or cajun seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper or to taste
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Rolling pin
  • Mixing bowls
  • Brush (for butter topping)
  • Cheese grater
  • Knife and cutting board

Method

  1. Make the Alfredo Sauce: Melt butter in a pan, add garlic, and cook until fragrant. Stir in cream, seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Simmer until thickened, then remove from heat.
A black skillet on a white marble cooktop, where heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese are being stirred into the melted butter. The sauce is gradually thickening into a smooth and creamy Alfredo consistency, coating the wooden spoon.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Roll out pizza dough into circles (about 6 inches in diameter).
A prepared dough circle on a floured surface, topped with shredded rotisserie chicken and a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese. The filling is evenly distributed, ready to be folded into a calzone.
  3. Fill the Calzones: Spread Alfredo sauce over half of each dough circle, add shredded chicken, and sprinkle with mozzarella.
A floured surface with a rolled-out 6-inch pizza dough circle. A spoonful of rich Alfredo sauce is being spread evenly over half of the dough, leaving the edges clear to ensure proper sealing.
  4. Seal and Brush: Fold the dough over, crimp the edges with a fork, and brush with a mixture of softened butter and parsley.
  5. Air Fry: Place calzones in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Cool Slightly: Let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  7. Serve with Marinara: Enjoy warm with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
